The Vision Award
Download application form...
Next award period: October 2008 - December 2008
Application due date: Mon., Sep. 1, 2008 at 5 p.m. Central
We will evaluate applications and notify the recipient during March 2008.
The future of wellness in America depends on healthy local businesses. This unique award provides expertise that might otherwise be out of reach for those new and existing business owners who most need it.
Recipients receive three months of expert business coaching and mentoring at no charge...detailed and practical advice, not marketing fluff.
We tailor our help to the winner's specific needs. Typical examples include: cutting through the clutter to help set key business priorities, developing growth strategies, creating and troubleshooting sales and marketing plans, giving advice on hiring, coaching, and compensating employees and much more.
Our winners consistently tell us that their experience as a Vision Award winner was one of the best things that ever happened to them. And we love working with them! It's amazingly rewarding to help our award winners turn visions for their businesses into reality. Previous winners include innovative weight management programs, personal training firms, wellness-oriented retailers, physician-led wellness centers, and mind/body practitioners.

From a 2005 winner: "Let
me say again how appreciative
we are to have had the opportunity
to work with you.
We are using what we learned
with you for our other projects,
and consider our time with
you invaluable."

2007: Yoga For Teens
Read teacher's note...
In 2007, The Radial Group
funded a program
for low-income high school
kids in California to achieve
a healthier lifestyle through
yoga and meditation, as
well as education on the
principles of healthy eating
and stress management.
2007: Obesity Busters

In 2007, we also funded
a project in Indiana to
offer a greater variety
of exercise and play equipment
to elementary school kids.
This equipment enables them
to work on upper body strength,
abdominal strength and flexibility.
2007: Snug As A Bug In A Rug

The Bank of America matched
our 2007 donations and funded
this project in a low-income
Illinois school. It
provides a welcoming area
where students from the
Philippines, Bosnia, Russia,
Albania, Pakistan, Ivory
Coast, Nigeria, Togo, Ethiopia,
Sudan, France, and Germany
can read quietly during
independent reading time,
helping them learn English
and adapt to their new home.
2006: Building
Healthy Kids
See class pictures... For 2006, The Radial Group
has fully funded a
nutrition education program
for a low-income public
school in North Carolina.
Nutrition is a key factor
in kids' behavior and ability
to learn. This fun
program uses colorful Food
Pyramid charts, books, and
Nutrition Lotto games.
Magnetic food sets let kids
learn and have fun as they
create balanced meals with
wipe-off order pads and
"play food".
Miles for
Smiles
In 2005,
The Radial Group fully funded
a pedometer-based walking
program for an alternative
school. Many of these
students struggle with academics
and behavior. No equipment
meant they often sat on
the bleachers at gym time.
Walking laps has become
a way to succeed in school
and has led to classroom
achievement.
