Rethinking The Business Of Wellness

Yes, Indeed, I’m Ranked #1 In Pushups!

…Well, as of Saturday, October 9 at 2:41 p.m. Central.  Among women. Aged 47. But they were “real” pushups, not modified!

This is from a neat site I discovered this weekend, www. StackMeUp.com (no login required), where you can compare yourself to other people on all kinds of dimensions.  ”Physical accomplishments” is just one of the categories – I didn’t look at the others.

Anyway, I’m enjoying the thrill of victory while it lasts.

To put this in perspective – yes, technically I run an 8 mile Turkey Trot every year – but I’m usually the last person moving faster than an actual walk to cross the finish line.

I have been passed more than once by seven-year-olds. And seventy-year-olds.

And tiny dogs.

(Not that I’m complaining – I’m grateful for every step, since it’s all in spite of  lots of broken bones + surgery following a many-years-ago car accident.)

So I certainly never expected – even for fleeting moments – to be at the top of a “physical accomplishment” list!

Let me know how your numbers turn out, in the Comments (emails stay private, always).

    Real pushups? That’s is awesome!

    • Thank you, I’m totally impressed with myself :) – and they are real full-fledged pushups, not the easier modified versions!

I also discovered “Chinese pushups” in Ross Enamit’s excellent book “Never Gymless” – but my best on that variation is only one minute in each of the four positions.
