Objectives

A former technology professional in banking, Valerie founded Sunrise Yoga in 2003 after 4 years as a part-time instructor toting her supplies in the "yoga-mobile." Since then, she's grown a successful studio with a stellar reputation for both yoga expertise and a sense of caring, compassion and community in a competitive market where yoga classes are available in health clubs, park and rec centers, discount studios and other budget-priced venues with less-qualified instructors.

Thanks to its focus on yoga that's accessible to all in a lighthearted, non-competitive and non-judgemental atmosphere, Sunrise is profitable and has maintained its revenues and profits while other studios struggled due to the economy. Workshops led by well-regarded practitioners and special events like potlucks, twice-yearly 108 Sun Salutation celebrations and a popular book club keep the sense of community strong and lead to excellent word of mouth. Sunrise's reputation as a yoga center is also growing among yoga professionals as well - in fact, it offers the only RYT-200 teacher training program in the Winston-Salem region.

Valerie's objective was to maximize utilization of her newly expanded facility, which features a large and experienced staff of Yoga Alliance-registered instructors plus a Yoga Wall, extensive props, hardwood floors, and tons of natural light.

"I worked with a yoga business consultant before this, but he recommended the same things to all of his clients. I also worked with a business advisor here in Winston-Salem, but she didn't know much about health and wellness. I always enjoyed Radial's newsletters, mixers, and classes so when I wanted to step things up, I called them.

Working with Leslie is very easy. She's very quick to reply to emails and is on time for all phone meetings.

I've had quite a few compliments on our new flyers and website design. A recent new student said she chose our studio over others in the area simply because she liked our website the best as it was easy to navigate and told her exactly what she was looking for.

Leslie asks a lot of questions when working on a project. And although there are a flurry of emails and calls while working on a project, it's well worth responding to all of her requests for information because the end result is better than anything I could have imagined."
